Dewey Davis-Thompson is a playwright in St. Petersburg, Florida. His musical requieM: A Tragedy in Reversepremiered at St. Petersburg Opera in 2017 and he has written many short plays for stage including Gasparilla Queen, The Manatee’s Tale of Extinction and the spooky radio drama The Tocobaga Bargain on WMNF. He also co-wrote and produced two seasons of Cosmic Significance with Elizabeth Brachman.
As a company member with the St. Petersburg Opera, Dewey recently performed in Turandot, Carmen, Seasonal Sparkle, and covered the part of Pasha in Abduction From the Seraglio. He can be heard on-air as several recurring characters in the sci-fi series Patch and Click Rebooted.
He is a founding board member of several organizations: Voices for Children, Sustany Foundation, and Heroes of the St. Pete Police and Fire. Dewey is also an advisory board member of the USF St. Petersburg Creative Writing Program, and an innuagural inductee of the USF/Poyntner St. Petersburg CIty of Writers.
