Dewey Davis-Thompson‘s work has been performed locally at St. Pete Opera, StageWorks, SoundStage, Studio@620, Suncoast Theatre, Players Theatre, New College, HCC Ybor and the Palladium.
Dewey was awarded a grant by the St. Petersburg Arts Alliance for the a reading of Sunshine City, The Musical. His ten-minute musical meiuqeR: A Tragedy in Reverse premiered last year at St. Pete Opera. Dewey penned short dramas for local radio WMNF including The Tocobaga Bargain, an historical thriller about hurricanes in West Florida, and the Cosmic Significance sci-fi series. His comedy Ganymede first premiered at the Suncoast Theatre in 2007.
A company member with the St. Petersburg Opera, Dewey has performed in Turandot, Carmen, Seasonal Sparkle and covered the part of Pasha in Abduction From the Seraglio. He can be heard on-air as several recurring characters in the sci-fi series Patch and Click Rebooted.
A local print and radio journalist, Dewey studied anthropology at New College and creative writing at Interlochen. He is a founding board member of Voices for Children, Sustany Foundation, and Heroes of the St. Pete Police and Fire, an advisory board member of the USF St. Pete Creative Writing Program, and an innuagural inductee of the USF/Poyntner St. Petersburg CIty of Writers.
